Highly detailed 1/350 scale model kit of the USS Buchanan (DD-484), a Gleaves-class destroyer of the United States Navy. Notable for her role in the landings at Guadalcanal and Tulagi, the USS Buchanan also took part in the landings in Iwo Jima and Okinawa. USS Buchanan holds the honor of having shuttled Fleet Admirals Nimitz and Halsey from their respective flagships to Yokohama where they met with General MacArthur prior to the Japanese surrender proceedings, and she carried General MacArthur to Missouri (BB-63) where he accepted the Japanese surrender.
